Today's Weather in Your Garden - 41

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

My goodness, DP!!! That's quite a contrast!

South Hamilton, MA

DH was watching the weather channel & Milwaukee got 12" of LAKE EFFECT snow. I can't remember it doing that. The winds pushed ice up on the beaches. They are NE of Cedar rapids.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hi Candyce! Great to see you again.

David - we'll have to assume they're under there!

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

I left the gym and feeling a bit warm, opened the roof. Forgot about ice on top of the car. I wonder if that's how the plants felt yesterday.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Oh - did it fall in on you?

South Hamilton, MA

Improving, sun, but still cold temperature.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Cold out there! Especially when the wind blows. 27 and clear as a bell. Check out this icicle!

Is that Sniff on the left Victor? The cats have the right idea in this cold March weather. Here's another kitty cuddler:

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

No. The sun does wonderful things.

Thomaston, CT

Yes, the sun was warm on my face as I trudged up the drive for the papers---never looked at the temp! Don't want to! Lovely kits---and very smart to cuddle together in this weather---not like my stupid dale, sitting in 8" of snow like a day at the beach!

South Hamilton, MA

Very bright, but still below freezing--doesn't even melt snow off the branches.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

it is 24 for here and was perfect weather for my jog!!

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

It's bright, sunny, and cold. Supposed to warm up this weekend.

Personally, I am grateful for the snow - if we must have cold temperatures at night, I'd rather have the plants insulated by the snow.

A couple of years ago, I was sooooo delighted by the "early spring" - only to lose several plants that emerged only to be wiped out by a severe frost.

South Hamilton, MA

The snow was here during the bitter cold in Jan. when it was needed. Bitter cold often happens in Feb., early this year.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Welcome back, Candyce. You've been missed!

Victor - love that shot of Sniff, Crash and Spooky. They are adorable!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

We're at 41 now and sunny. The snow is melting pretty fast.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

I wonder if we could even get to our house in NH now after all these months of so much snow! Let's hope it all melts everywhere now that daylight savings time is upon us. It CAN'T really snow during daylight savings time, can it????????? It will be heating up here into the 80s with humidity by the weekend. I actually prefer the cooler weather we've had here this winter. I haven't even put away my winter jacket and mittens from some of our early morning walks. It's the wind by the River that gets ya!!
