Don't feel like spring is close here.
10º going for a balmy 20º today.
Ground is snow covered.
New week, new challenges!
Pullets are beginning to lay. Not to smart at the moment. Seem to have problem figuring where they should be laying the eggs. I built a new nesting box, but they would rather use it for a house than a nest.
I will build another one this week. It will give them 36 choices of where to lay their egg.
125 pullets, so that should be enough room.
Tomorrow we will take the cabinets to the flip house.

This is the gun cabinet I offered for sale at the flea market. I have 3 positive possibilities from it.

Love the house, hate the lawn. LOL!! I love how Justin is peeking around the column like he's waiting for something funny to happen to you.

(Zone 7a)

That's a great house, Sharon. Gary is looking very good!!! His hair is back and everything. Is that a Camelia by the door?

Amelia Island, FL(Zone 9a)

I think it is Celia - It's h-u-g-e! I'm going to leave it that way. It's a great backdrop for the dining room window.

Here is the dining room window; we won't need curtains or a blind. Not our furniture. The previous tenant will be moving their stuff out this weekend. Im having my friend the Queen of Clean do a pro cleaning on the house afterward.

That Camellia is gorgeous, Sharon! I like the dining room window, too. The yard... well, it leaves lots of scope for imagination. ;-)

That amaryllis is beautiful, Adina!! I need to get some of those... Hopefully this year, so they'll bloom next year.

Hmm... My DH left the work laptop here. Normally I would take it to him, but I have to be at church at 8:45 and I don't have time to go to his work (15 miles east of here, through icky rush hour traffic) and then all the way back to church (11 miles west of here). Rats. I tried calling him, but he didn't turn his cell phone on this morning.

Casn you believe the owner paid a guy $125/mo to take care of the lawn? Looks really bad.

The lawn has potential. I want to clear out the pine straw and put mulch in. Pine straw is too volatile for my taste (it burns easily besides that I think it's just plain old ugly). I want to put a daylily bed around one of the trees in the front.

There is more I want to do and I'll figure it all out when we move in. I've got work to do, but it's going to look nice when I'm done :)

(Zone 7a)

It's going to look great with your touch added. I can't wait to see what you do with it. What plants are you bringing with you? And that's definitely a Camelia. I would leave it, too. $125. mo!? For what?

Marylyn, that's a lot of travel. I hate it when I forget things.

52°F with 60º! for the high today. Yea!!! I'm spending much time outside and running errands today. It's a little overcast but very nice out.

Dark & Cold

Amelia Island, FL(Zone 9a)

Celia – Nice sunrise! Supposed to be mow, weed-eat, edge, fertilize, etc… Not happening. The funny thing is this guy does lawn care for a lot of our rental properties. We may have to re-visit that issue.
Pepper – Yes, keep those bird pics coming! Great job!
Adina – The boys love the house. I’m putting my foot down on keeping their rooms neat and tidy – a pet peeve of mine. I don’t know if my Kalanchoe’s (?) are going to make it after all the freezes. I had them covered, but they are really looking bad. I’m taking most of my plants, cuttings of others.

I love the color of the brick, Sharon. And I love that bird photo, too, Pepper!! We have a really noisy blue jay at our feeder right now. I need to mix some cayenne pepper with the bird seed next time - the squirrels keep emptying the feeder.

The Mexican plum is in full bloom now, so spring has officially sprung here. It can't be too long before it makes its way to you all, too!

kelli~so glad to be part of your hike and seeing the wide variety of wildflowers.
Midday; 23° with clouds moving in.
Rusty: between the rain and sun, there's bound to be spring in the air for your area.
Haven't taken pics since getting home; this was taken last year on this date. Moose tracks fill the back yard/snow now, as well.
Looks as if they had a grand time on whatever browse remains here in the yard while we've been away:)

Busy, Busy, Busy!
We thought we were going up to Dayton to do a one weekend kitchen demo and remodel this weekend.
Just a down and dirty.... make it look OK for a buyer type deal.
So we'd loaded up about every DIY tool we had.....
Robyn's parent's house and we knew from it's age and the market there a great job wasn't needed.
It will 99% surely be turned into a rental.
They'll gut it and remake... we just wanted to get it in better structual shape.
Well two prospective buyers said stop all work.
They will both be bidding as is..... we'll see... so all our tools and stuff go back to the garage...lol!

Anyway... 61°F here today.... 65 tomorrow.... maybe a dip back to 30's high Sun and Mon.
But it appears we have turned the corner tempwise.

Sharon that house is perfect... and that yard..... not so much.
I can see you'll have fun gardening there!!!

Kelli it's great to see SO many blooms!

Kiska Welcome Back!

Celia glad Isis is doing so well!

~~~~~'s to everyone I didn't mention...... I still have a bunch of stuff to unload.
Celia- Awwww I knew she wouldn’t stay mad too long. Sweet pic!
Kiska – Welcome back! We missed you!
Kelli – I agree. I’m planning on daylilies and more : ) You have some of the pretties flowers in the area.
Rusty – Glad you are back too!
Kiksa – LOL! Nothing like a moose making itself at home in the lawn!
