I have 2 mums and an aster, both bought at just a grocery store. The mums got to be 4 feet tall and the aster about 4 feet tall but 3 feet wide. Is that what these plants are supposed to do? The aster I cut way back and replanted because it was taking up everything. The mums I have done nothing with. When should I cut them back and how far? Is there a certain height I shouldn't let them get over? I live in zone 8a in Southwest WA so we still have about 1 month of possible freezing nights. Do I wait till after that, even if I see some green trying to come out? (we have also had some 60 degree days)
