Baby Quilt Challenge

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Ladies! I would like to organize a Quilt swap for baby blankets to be donated. The way it would work is like this: ONLY One person would send each swap member 1/2 yard of prewashed cotton print baby fabric. Each swap member would then choose their own design and other fabrics to coordinate with the 1/2 yard given to them. You would then donate your baby quilt to the charity of your choice.

Many of us are already making and donating quilts to hospitals, Project Linus and other organizations. This would give us an opportunity to "work together" and see how someone else would use the same fabric.

Psychw2 has offered to send the first 1/2 yard of a bold primary color toddler car print. If this is a "success" we might consider making this an ongoing project with each of us taking a turn providing the 1/2 yard. Anyone want in? This first project is limited to six people. We want to see if there is good follow through and not overburden the person who is providing the 1/2 yard each and postage for the fabric.

Deadline for sign up March 20th. Please use only 100% prewashed cotton and post a picture of your completed project and a description of WHERE your quilt is going. There is no firm "deadline" for completion but by May 20 would seem doable.

Ladies, REV-UP your sewing machines and sign up to participate and get your first 1/2 yard!
