Far North Flowers of Cathedral Park WV?

Oakland, MD

So I was talking to my grandparents about Cathedral State Park, WV and the unique plant species growing there in the permafrost that only grow to the very far north.
But I can't find a list of anything!
I would like to know what all grows there, and when the flowers bloom so I can go take pictures!
If anyone has any information, or knows where I can find a list, please let me know!

Hi LadyAshley,
The only plantlist I can find for that park is here:
http://www.asecular.com/forests/cathedral.htm
The paragraphs of interest come after the pictures of trees.
Maybe you could visit, take pictures, post them here and then we could have fun trying to identify them.

Maybe we can plan a trip there sometime and take our ID books with us!!

Will do! I go there quite often actually!
Biggest trees I've ever seen in my whole life!
Haven't taken my new camera out there yet though.
Been too cold.

Dolly Sods wilderness is another great place to see unusual plants in that area (about forty miles away). Similar situation with the boreal plant communities there

Yeah Monongahela is absolutely amazing in summer. Never been walking in it, but just driving by makes me itch to do so!!! Will have to go there too!!!
