frisee seed

West Warren, MA

Good Morning from a frigid Massachusetts!! We do have 'sun' today!!
Does anyone know or have any 'frisee' seed?? This is the kind you find in salads.
Did get some escarole and maybe the center will be similar..
Thanks all for your help.

I have seeds for 'Green Curled' endive if you're interested in that variety. Escarole is very similar to endive - it actually is a type of endive. The only real difference is the leaf type - the term 'frisee' is usually used to refer to the curly leafed varieties so the texture is different but the taste is very similar.

Ooh yes, I have Robin - you read my mind there ;) Isn't the 'Hopi Red Dye' simply gorgeous? I've only grown 'Love Lies Bleeding' before but I have seeds for the 'Hopi Red Dye' that I'm going to be trying this year (and should have plenty to share in the fall) - definitely looking forward to it.

It's interesting that Kitchen Garden Seeds says that the average seed life on the amaranth is only a year - I've read that the seeds are rather long lived and I've planted fairly old amaranth seeds and they came up like gangbusters.
