pumpkin for soap coloring ? advice, please (Ottoson?)

Trying to make a batch of soap just for the fun of it, I came across a comment in another thread

where it says pumpkin will give a bright orange color to soap. I got a lot of pumpkins this year, so could anyone please elaborate on that ?
