Well, it is most places, anyway. I can't complain a bit. :-)
The other thread was taking a long time to load, so here's part 2. ^_^ We're continued from here: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/938420/
Kiska's ice trees:
January Daily Weather 2... Honey, It's Cold Outside!
Pepper, food poisioning for me tends to show up in the car on long road trips. I'll leave the rest to your imaginations.
Cumulus, I hope it doesn't get down to -10F. I've seen temperatures that cold on the thermometer, but I don't think I've ever actually been outside in it.

So, Sharon, I can call her Sweet Pea or Peanut and i will be correct, huh?
Celia: great photo of the reflection in the window!
Adina: I like the photo of the shadow of the flower pot on the wall.
Cumulus: such a pretty flower--let us know if it survives the -10 temp.
The clouds rolled away, the sun came out and the temp warmed up--for about two hours. Now it is overcast once again and the temp is falling. Rain forecast for tonight. However, Friday and I enjoyed the nice weather while we were able.
I actually got a good action shot. I used the telephoto lens set on the "sports" setting. It worked! That pink and blue blob to the side of Friday's mouth is his rabies tag and city license which is attached to his collar.
pepper, so sorry about the food poisoning - hope you are not part of that group of people involved in the salmonella outbreak the government is investigating. Have only read snippets about it - the numbers are growing - but no other actual information.
Marsue - what a super picture of Friday - that is a great function ( sports) on my camera too. I do not use it enough.
Slightly overcast today, but had some sunshine. Did not get above the freezing mark. Changed the filter in the furnace today. You can shake them out, wash them and dry them for reuse. It is still frozen to the clothesline.LOL
We are scheduled for a major snowstorm from 8PM tonight until 8AM Sunday morning with totals of 3-6" in our area. (Oh Yeah?) When they told us that last year we go 10" and it drifted!!!
Thanks for the new thread, MarylynY_X, and I'm honored to share the icy forest.
The below zero temps continue ~ the full moon is gorgeous tonight.
pepper~are you feeling better? Sure hope you are.
kelli~the new features are very cool. What a change of appearance in one flower.
Adina~love your cool field, too. Looks very cold.
marsue~that's quite an action shot; cute.
MySharona~hadn't realized how sensitive Peanut is to temperatures, nor Jeff:)
se_eds~ it's now nearly 11pm there; did the snowstorm arrive? Hope it's not as much as before.
kwanjin~can't agree more; just never know where or when.
Cold outside~warmer inside. (Taken a few days ago).
Kiska is sending her weather to us, yipee!
Snowing lightly now after 4" overnight last night.
Forecast is for below zero most of next week. They say it's coming directly from Alaska!
We have lots of places to go tomorrow. First going to stop at a part's house & go over an estimate for a kitchen remodel. Then go and install a countertop on a cabinet we put in a couple weeks ago. Next it's to install a bath vanity. I hope the roads are decent.
After all that we need to pickup some material for more cabinets.
Might be home in time for supper.
Good night,
Bernie
Kelli – Interesting camera setting. The pictures are pretty and unique.
Adina – The blanket is Care Bears. I think a friend of mine, Michele, wants it for herself LOL! I may have to buy Michele one so Pea can keep hers. I like the snow and shadow pics!
Mau – Yep, you can call her either and she’ll come prancing. She doesn’t really run, just prances like a horse or hops LOL! That is a great picture of Friday!
Se_eds – Did you get the snow?
Kiska – Lovely table setting!
Bernie – Have a great day today!
Adina – Looks like an ice storm hit!

Partly cloudy and warmer. High 70. South winds 10 to 15 mph.
Off to great start! 3.2º but sun will shine. Moon light when I first went out.
Later,
Bernie
Thanks for the compliments on the action photo of Friday. I do believe that is one of the best photos I have ever taken with my camera!
Kelli: those are certainly some interesting features on your camera.
Se_eds: a frozen filter--that's a first for me--LOL
Bernie: have a great day! Hope the weather doesn't hamper your shopping and cabinet installation efforts.
Kiska: I agree with Sharon--that's a lovely table setting and a great indoor/outdoor shot.
Adina: you can go to my gardening blog here on DG and view the one entitled "garden path progression" to see what was in the corner of the photo you mentioned.
We, too, had icicles on the trees, shrubs and houses here earlier in the week but our warm weather the last three days took care of that in a hurry--LOL However, it is supposed to get colder today and remain so for several days.
Currently overcast with misting rain occasionally-temp is 50ºF.
Mau a GREAT shot of Friday.
That one needs a Frame!
I've been playing w/ the Zoom Lens/Sport settings also.
That Squirrel shot a few weeks back was done that way.
Wait till your Hummers come back. It's a must for them.
I didn't get many 'usable' shots but I'm trying for non-feeder pics.
My Nikon D40 has a burst setting and so you do get a lot of pics for a small window of opportunity.
I'm going to have a 'high seat' on the FPR roof so I can get them feeding in the Mimosa.
Adina that was quite an ice storm!
How did Buck like it?
Kiska those Ice Bubbles were a hit!
I've directed many of my friends here to see them.
They are all in Awe!
Wonder how the Giant Bubble Wands would do.....?
Keli I've played a bit w/ the digital settings myself.
Like you I haven't really seen much that I would use but...
Picasa 3 has some similar ways to play.
Bernie be careful out there!
Well it's 37° and the rain has moved off for a bit.
Should be 47° by late afternoon.
We're dodging a bullet.
It's 32° and still raining up just 30 miles north of us.
They're looking at light ice then snow.
50 miles north 1/4-1/2" of ice and 3" of snow.
Our temps will drop but no freezing until the rain has gone East.
This coming week they are projecting a serious drop.
Day temps in the low 20's and night temps in the single digits.
We'll see...... wish we had some snow for insulation!
Well off to the FPR..... trimming, painting and pulling wire today.
Got to get the wire pulled so we can finish insulating the ceiling!
Ric
Thanks, Ric. I'll look forward to using the sports setting on the hummer shots in the spring--never thought of doing that before--duh! Good luck on the trimming, painting and wire pulling today.
Our temperature is dropping. I was outside with Friday a little bit ago and the wind is blowing which makes it seem colder than the current 43ºF. Still overcast around here. "They" are now saying that our high today will be 45ºF.
Full moon today, so does that mean we are going into good weather? It has been cold and snowy since mid December. Looking forward to some sunny, mild days.
Cold and cloudy with a dusting of snow in a few places outside.
Turns out I don't have food poisoning. My dad came home early yesterday cause he wasn't feeling good either. Turns out he got whatever I got. We think we all have the stomach flu. It came out of nowhere and hit us. I'm feeling a little bit better today. Can eat and drink more. My neck hurts though so I'm gonna try the massager on it today and see if it helps. I can't tell if the muscles are stiff or if I'm out again. I can't move it too much otherwise I get really dizzy.
Sorry about that, Pepper. Get better and I hope those muscles relax.
Mau, I am checking out your Home Page to see the whole thing.
Joanna, I, too, am looking forward to no more snow! I have to get daytime full moon pics.
Ric, have a good day. Your room is coming along nicely.
I'm going out to play with my camera today. We'll see what happens.

26* and a little snow on the ground. Life has been so busy! I promised to bake bread today, but I had to find time to get online for a while.
I'm so sorry about your fish and your plants, Cumulus. Thank you for sharing the beautiful photos.
Pepper, I sure hope you feel better soon!
Marsue's cold front is coming through here, too. It is going to get chillier as the day goes along. Tonight it will be in the 40s.

Cumulus~first the greenhouse and now the pond; such a loss. It's very pretty, though. Keep warm.
CountryGardens~you're very busy~glad you want the cooler weather; I'm certainly ready to share.
Adina~your icy shots are gorgeous. Thanks, too.
ric~thanks~now you've got me wondering, too. Maybe I can make a large wand from a piece of wire and try. Not planning to go to town today.
MySharona~thank you, too. There were 3 moose on the deck later, so was really nice to be indoors looking out at them from the sunroom.
kelli~nice weather report.
Marylyn~you and bunnies bundle up ~ that wind can be soo cold.
marsue~you, too~wind/cold not a good combination.
pepper~get well soon; at least it's not food poisoning.
bp~bread making sounds great; can almost smell it from here:)
joanna~good weather would be nice, for sure.
kwanjin~have a good day~that's a beautiful photo, too.
Added a few more trees ~
Cumulus don't give up so soon on the fish.
Depending on the type they can take some serious cold.
The pond may well not be frozen thru.... our Goldfish are quite happy under 4" of ice every year.
This in a 20" deep pond.
Ric
I've been so busy today I haven't been able to think straight!

Love that picture, Sharon! I guess Pea is a sure enough pocket-sized chihuahua! LOL
Great winter scenes, Cumulus but I'm sorry about the plants and I hope the fish really aren't frozen.
Glad you are feeling better, pepper.
All these icy shots from Kiska to Celia to Cumulus just remind us that it is winter time in the northern hemisphere!
Turning colder--currently 38ºF on my back porch heading for a low tonight of 28º
Friday and I are going to curl up in a chair and settle down with a cup of decaff coffee(for me) and watch some TV. Everyone have a good evening!
Weather was fine, only cold.
Talked with the couple about the kitchen. I would expect a go ahead in a few days.
Bath vanity fit perfectly.
Home now & 7º.
Going to the munie tonight. Seems there will be a party there.
Love all the pictures. Especially from the foreign countries, as I now I will never get there.
I've been to Alaska, but it was mid June.
I plan on traveling more in the US now that I am "slowing down" on work!
