Pink (only) Annabelle

Details on this new hydrangea:

* available at retail under the Proven Winners ColorChoice brand in the Spring of 2010 (so wait until next year)

* Soil pH does n-o-t influence the flower color. This plant will a-l-w-a-y-s have pink flowers regardless of the soil Ph type

* The blooms start a dark hot pink and age to a clear pink

* The name is Invincibelle ‘Spirit’

* continuous blooming... starts in late May or June and produces new flowers right up until frost

* USDA Zones 3-9 (perennial in zone 3)

* In the South, it should be planted in partial shade

* Deciduous

* Breeder: Dr. Thomas Ranney, NCSU.

I need this hydangea. My garden center sells top notch hydrangea so hopefully they will have it next fall. (just bought myself 2 new hydrangea for mother's day)

I love that they are growing cold hardy mopheads now!

The only shocker may be the price. ES used to be quite expensive when it was the only game in town. We should know how much by either this Fall or in Spring of 2010.
