Eastern Rosella (Platycercus eximius)
What a gorgeous bird! And nice crisp photo as well. Are these common in your area? If so, how lucky for you.
They are gorgeous, and yes they are quite common in our area. They rarely come to our garden though as they like very open areas. The Crimson Rosella: http://davesgarden.com/guides/birdfiles/go/1235/ is the common parrot of the forested areas and they are in our garden almost every day.
Another gorgeous bird, how lucky you are.
