I am blushing like mad.
My 6 year old part Percheron/QH gelding, his whole sheath swole up
like a football recently. I cleaned him out, not too icky.
My question is, after reading many posts on the internet, I could not
find out how far to get my hand up in there to clean it out.
I only got my hand in to the wrist, with warm soapy water and
rubbed and rinsed a few times. He is a dear, and doesn't mind
me futzing around down there.
The sheath has slowly gotten smaller, now the front part is hard
like rocks, he is not in pain nor smelly like an infection, perhaps
he got something up in there and I am missing it? Thats the part
that has me puzzled. How far up is far? Is there another room
past the first room? Thats what one of the web sites tried
to explain, but I am just not understanding it.
My other geldings all were clean, they dropped and I could
clean them easily, so I never had to go treasure hunting so to speak.
Please, if anyone knows about this stuff, and you feel uncomfortable
about it writing in public, please send me a dm. I am not a weirdo
either. LOL.
PS. I cannot have the vet out here anymore...they will only come
for cash now, and we just don't have it. We owe them too much
money right now.
thanks!
