What's the matter with my boxwoods when they turn yellowish-orange on top. Solutions?
Boxwoods
Picture? Species? If you can, both would help greatly.
sawpalm:
•When did you last prune these boxwoods?
•Was there unhardened succulent new growth on your boxwoods as cold winter set in?
•Have you had any recent sudden unusual cold snaps, or snow/ice loads on the boxwoods?
It sounds like (since I can't see it) some "normal" winter kill to the tips of stems. This often happens if there are some new growth extensions that haven't fully hardened before subfreezing temperatures of late fall/winter. Also, this new growth can dessicate rapidly if there are cold winter winds blowing across them.
SOLUTIONS:
•Move further south.
•Move to Great Britain.
