Yacon

Anyone growing yacon? Seeds of Change carried it a few years ago, but it seems to have disappeared off the planet. http://www.seedsofchange.com/enewsletter/issue_40/yacon.asp

Check further down in this forum. There are some threads on this, one relatively recent (Oct, I think)

Thanks. I did a search, but all I came up with was the Plant Files on it... must have missed something. Much appreciated.

Nichols is still carrying it this year. Check their new catalog. I might have a few plants for trade in the spring, but will not know until May.

Saw that, thank you. I'll put in an order and will keep you in mind as well.

Nichols was the source of my plants some time ago. They do a good job of getting them to you, but need a little grow time before planting out. If the plant they send you has several shoots, you should be able to divide them by first mounding the dirt higher on the plant (putting them in a bigger, deeper pot can help) and letting them size up a bit, then carefully divide off any shoot that has roots or comes from a different spot on the tuber.

A friend found them at Rich Farm & Garden as well. http://www.richfarmgarden.com/setupalpha.html
