Glassware ID and what was it used for

This is a glass bowl that was given to me 30 years ago by a then 80-year-old woman. She used it to hold her snuff in, but I don't think that is what it is. The bowl is 4" high, the top 3" and the diameter is 4". Possibly a candy dish?

I'm not the best photographer, so bear with me please. :)
