Ornamental sweet potato ( Ipomoea batatas )

Aren't they just gorgeous? I came accross them recently while visiting in Cairns. Ummed and ahhed, and left them there - dumb!!!!

Although these plants are ornamental do they still grow kumeras as well. Very interesting..

Burgundy, yellow and lime green. They were just scrumptious!

Awchid From what I have been told about them(ornamentals) yes you can eat them...but they are not cultivated for that purpose.
