I found this on two different Confederate Jasmine plants. (Trachelospermum jasminoides 'Madison')
I found it on one during summer, which is in a moist shady spot, then today, I found it on this younger plant that's in a dry part shade spot.
Is it scale?
Please tell me it's something I can get rid of without destroying the whole plant! :O
Thanks!
Deb
scale on jasmine??
i would spray with a summer "lite" oil or some pam or generic cooking spray while the weather is cool. whether it's scale or mealybug, the oil will kill it.
Really! Plain old cooking spray? Amazing. I never knew that.
I'll be out spraying at first light. :)
Thank you so much!
Deb
i use it whenever i have a scale problem. if you use it on a thin leafed plant, i.e. coleus, it will drop every leaf but camellia and other thicker leafed plants are fine. even if you lose some leaves, it's better than losing the plant! make sure you spray the stems too and look under the leaves.
OK. Thanks for that. I wil take your advice. Do not want to lose these wonderful vines.
