HiLazLO,
I will be getting out an envy to you.Do you not have anymore Red-Leaf Hibiscus (H. acetosella 'Maple Sugar')?

LazLo...what's your usual minimum temp in wintertime Austin?

Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

back in '90 the worst was a four-day stretch around 5ºF . . . it is usually not that cold for that many days altogether, though. a "usual minimum" temp would be in a range of 20ºF - 30ºF, and then only for perhaps 6 to 10 hours at the most until rising above freezing. around here a "hard" freeze occurs when we go below 32ºF for more than 12 hours - which is not very often.

today we will have a high of about 42ºF (no windchill computed) and the low last night was 29ºF - - but it had been 81ºF at 1:00 pm yesterday . . . tonight will be another short freeze, around 30ºF but warming up to 60ºF tomorrow afternoon.

if you don't like the weather in Texas, just wait a few hours . . . .

I have some seeds ready soon that I thought might interest you, but they wouldn't make it there anyway.....
