laptop monitor question

I was cleaning my monitor today, it really needed it. I use the recommended kit with LCD cleaning fluid and cloth. Now I am seeing these gray irregular circles on each side of my monitor. They only show up on a light background. I swear they weren't there before. They kind of look like a moisture spot would but I know it couldn't be that. Does anyone know what might have caused this and if there is anything to do about it?
