Hi KG!

I was pleased to see you putting your moth pics in BugFiles, this is a moth which I would love to see or even a GardenTiger Moth. Yours is actually a Jersey Tiger, Euplagia quadripunctaria

I will contact Ken to let him know so he can move it.

Wallaby, thank you very much for your help! Actually, I was doubtful about the correctness of my identification.
The image didn't upload at first attempt the right way eather. So I had to upload the same photo twice.

Thank's for the links!

Last summer I took several photos of bugs in Sochi, near Moscow and in St.Petersburg. So I hope to add those after the correct identification.

Best regards.

Oh, btw, I took the pic of that Jersey Tiger, Euplagia quadripunctaria at my land near Sochi last October.

You're welcome KG! I have done the same when a pic wouldn't upload, refreshing the page sometimes sends two pics, other times not. I have at times gone back to Home page, then returned to see no image and uploaded another then finding two! I think that was when there were other problems though, it hasn't happened lately but I am still wary of refreshing the page, lol.

Ken will read this and remove the second image. You can 'edit' at the bottom of the pic to say where and when it was taken, I always do that for my first pic I enter. It is a good idea as when there is a problem we can research to find which it is much easier. Some people move then that causes ID problems!

If you are in doubt of your ID you can put it in the Insect and Spider ID forum, I will watch out for yours, lol.

Thank's. It's great!

KashtanGeorge, I am also very pleased to see you posting images of Bugs to BugFiles.

As wallaby1 says your moth is the Jersey Tiger Moth Callimorpha quadripunctaria and I have deleted your duplicate image and moved the original to the Jersey Tiger Moth page here: http://davesgarden.com/guides/bf/go/606/

I will leave the entry you made for the Virgin Tiger Moth Grammia virgo in the database as it is a valid species and hopefully someone will one day add some images

Ken, thank you very much for sorting the things out!
I'm really delighted of the opportunity to contribute to BugFiles and share information of the existing species.

Juri
