Hi , i'm wondering if nursery seedlings would work in these such as arborvitaes, small ornamental bushes etc. to help boost there growth during the first year or two. Does anyone know? What ya think of this idea?
Has anyone tried nursey plants on strawbales?
I am thinking after propagating some small landscaping bushes and they are big enough to grow in qt size pots -to maybe then plant in the strawbales and leave for a year or two. Does anyone have any input on this idea? Maybe this spring, I'll try an experiment with one seedling and see how it goes.
Dinks I would think in your climate it "MIGHT" work. If you get any hard freezes it may kill the roots in the bales or the bales may help to insulate the roots!!! So I'd say do a test this winter and see and keep us posted because I think this was a great question and we want to know the results.
