I just received some Spuria Iris seeds and since I had great success winter sowing Japanese Iris seeds last year, I was wondering if I could winter sow my new spuria seeds. Thanks for your help,
Linda
Can I Winter Sow Spuria Iris Seeds?
Yes
I put them out with my bearded seeds 3 days ago

PS Bury the pot in the ground makes temperature more stable and remember snow is just white mulch
:)
Thanks for the tips Anita. Did you put the seeds on the top as I did for my Japenese Irises? They were very slow in germinating and germinated over a long period of time into summer. Should I expect slow germination on the Spurias too? Thanks again,
Linda
You need to cover the seeds with as much soil as seed size on average I put about 1/4 to 1/2 inch of soil on top of the seeds

Thank you again for your help, Anita. I really appreciate it!
