I have an east facing wall that is quite shaded by the large trees that start 30 feet south of it. I want to plant several flowering vines on that wall. Further north on it I have clematis and climbing roses but I don't know of any of these that will take shade. We are in zone 5. Does anyone have any suggestions?
vines for shade
Sweet autumn clematis will bloom anywhere, is fragrant and looks like snow when in full bloom - I recommend this vine as a must-have for everyone's yard!
Yes, SAC is lovely! I blooms mostly where the sun hits the plant though...I would recommend a climbing hydrangea. I am planning on adding one to my garden myself this fall, they are supposed to bloom beautifuly in the shade.
