These are so large and attractive...Mom collected these longleaf pine cones here in Alabama over 10 years ago... She had hot glued them in a spiral formation to make a Christmas tree. The glue has given way but the cones remain as beautiful as ever!
I am trying to think of a way to reuse them that will also preserve their beauty.
Pinus palustris...beautiful cones
You can keep them as they are indefinitely, all they need protection from is woodworm (Furniture Beetle). If you do get a woodworm infestation in them, deep freeze them at -20°C for 3 or 4 days.

Very nice!
Thanks, Resin...
I didn't think about the woodworms.
