Blanchard, MI(Zone 5a)

Lucky you, all the bloom stalks on my rebloomers got frozen winter is trying to rear its ugly head, just cut off a dozen from SDB Autumn Embers, a couple from Total Recall they gotta realize snow=brrr and freeze means wait till spring.

Lebanon, OR

This is very strange for us to have any bloom in the middle of Nov since as I said we have had rain HEAVY storms, freezes so when I was out checking something out from the charts to do the webpage I was truly shocked

Tell
Bugsy to rebgloom for us--never has done so. We need work on the MDBs.

Lebanon, OR

I do not grow a ton of MDB because they are not as popular and a pain to divide for me with a big shovel.

D

South Hamilton, MA

Wish that we could get rock garden people interested in growing MDBs in their gardens.

Lebanon, OR

That would be great if we could...I know my friend is using them finally in hers and she gets alot of people to her garden so hoping this will help. Have you approached any rock garden clubs?

D

South Hamilton, MA

Marty & Jan are members of the rock garden society, although of course they are more interested in the siberians. Still they bring good ideas from RGS to our iris meetings.

Pylesville, MD(Zone 6b)

I am green with envy over such a late blossom!

Wow, Kelli. I need to move to Canoga, California! Here the ground is frozen and so is the manure in my truck!

Santa Ynez, CA

I have Kiss of Kisses and Tink, Juicy fruit and Mil Byers blooming, several others on the way, saw a Pure as Gold ready to go, Mariposa Skies, Pagan pink........ really nice to see some life out there..

Lebanon, OR

Well all the bloomstalk froze as last night and the several nights before that we have been to the high 20's at night...frost in the AM until about noon or one...so winter is here.

How wonderful Dee! Last bearded iris bloom I saw was in July, and mine have been totally covered with snow since around November 17. Here is a picture of my iris garden.

Robertsville, MO(Zone 5b)

Ahhh Shoot!!!! I cut all of my bloom stalks off thinking the freezes would kill them.I cannot believe those made it through the cold. That's awesome !!!!!!

South Hamilton, MA

Snow cover is great for iris beds. We are having some snow now, but it won't stay.

Robertsville, MO(Zone 5b)

We are still waiting for our snow.

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

We have snow, but it's pretty much been in the low 30s at night here.

Is that normal for you Dee? I didn't think it would be that cold where you are. What does it get to in the daytime?

Sad not to see the irises, but beautiful picture, Shadow.

I had several bloom stalks on Rosalie Figge that almost made it. There were actually about 6 on one plant, so that was sad that they never got the chance to bloom. It would have been lovely.

Lebanon, OR

Polly, we do get that cold quite often this is why the medians do so well here...and most others as my spurias are up already about 3-4"
I have iris seeds germinating daily now..which is early for them...

We usually do not get much if any snow in the valley but when we do in the 18 years here we have only had it stay more than a couple of days a few times.

I love the picture of the snow...just know that below them Mshadow are all the lovely iris that are loving the snow...

Happy Holiday, the house and outdoors are done decorating now the tree today...wrapping next weekend.
