low maintainace wild flower yard

Charleston, SC(Zone 8a)

I have just finished renovating a small cabin in Brevard. I will not be able to maintain a garden there the way I do at my home in Charleston. I would love to have the yard all in wild flowers - and maybe knock out roses and day lillies.
need help from you - the experts in that area. suggestions?

Check out this site too, it is a wealth of info on native plants.

The one plant that stands out in my memory from when we had a place in the mountains is Cosmos. They do much better with the cooler nights than they ever do along the coast.

Hi, Paula
You should check with the folks at Nurseries Caroliniana in N. Augusta (off exit 5 on I-20 near Edgefield) . I was just there (returning there tomorrow to get some crocosmia) and they have wonderful native plants (and more), and are very experienced and helpful. They also do mailorder and I found their nursery prices to be very good, better than many others in Columbia, at least. The website is http://www.nurcar.com . And it seems to me that I saw a native Plants nursery in NE GA out of Oconee, too. Only saw the sign, but a search for such may give you some ideas.
