Any crafter's out there from MI?

Lachine, MI

Good AM Michiganders!
I'm wondering if any of you garden folk are also crafters? I'm adding in garden accents to my nursery and am looking for some artist/crafters who would like to sell their enhancements at my perennial nursery this Spring. The fee is only 40.00 for the season and it last june- through october.
I am looking for all types of products- and also all types of fall related products. as I will be opening a fall event for families in 2009 too. If your interested post here or email me at:
sreebel@charter.net
Thank you for letting me post!

Consignment ?

Lachine, MI

Hi Grannymarsh!
No, this is not a consignment offer- all you pay is $ 40.00 for the season.
I do not take anything extra at all. I just want my customers to have some beautiful unique products to purchase for their gardens as well as for outdoor home decorating come fall.
Thank you for the question.

Hmmm-I will have to do some stuff and send you pics to see if you think they would go....when do you need to know for sure?? I ask as I am trying to get Xmas things done right now...where is Lachine??

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

OK-I looked up Lachine, I will have to look into the cost of shipping amd all that other stuff:)

Lachine, MI

Hi Fairy1004,
Thank you for your intrest! How far away are you? It might be worth the trip? But even shipping isnt too bad within michigan- i could proubly talk with you and give you ideas how to handle that. What type of items do you make?
I do alot of the wood cutouts - but so far they are mostly for the Autumnville experience I'm starting up in August for families- i am hoping to be able to start with my own sales in 2010-lol have so much to get ready and have been painting and more painting!
I promoted a huge craft show here for 17 years and our business's here are well established!
We have always had an entertainment biz for families every fall. But now i am working my goal for retirement stage. So this will be an on going biz for many years to come.
I will also be looking for folks who have potted shrubs to sell as i do not have the time to grow these. Lots going on- and soon. There will also be a marketplace starting in August and running through october for all kinds of vendors( but not flea marketers)
space rental for that is 25 $ for a weekend!
Our website will be updated soon- so everyone can read and see.
Plmk what you do or have...oh, and in 2010 The Outdoor Galleria De Art- will be opening! We will be a hub- bub of activity around here soon! LOL
Thank you,
Sandy

Sandy,
I live just above Toledo....I like to do Birdhouses and feeders, little trinket boxes, recipe boxes, things for fairy gardens, candle holders, floral arrangements, all kinds of stuff-I will have to send you some pics or post them all in picasa and send you the link to the album....I am getting a scrolling jigsaw for Xmas and some patterns and want to try and make my own yard figures from The Winfeild(sp?) Collection and Sherwood Creations. I really like to do a variety of things and have been in a lot of swaps that have given me an outlet for my craftiness.....I have been in just about every swap since early this summer and the only one I was VERY unhappy with was my attempt at the jar swap-those buggers got me!! I also asked for a dremmel w/ diamond bits for xmas-I have some blue bottles I want to carve into and put holes in the bottom w/ a taper style light...

Hi Stacy,
Nice work- i especially love the blue birdhouse with the hummers and butterflies on it!!
Cute,cute.
One thing tho- should you decide, at this time I do not have a sheltered area for products. They would be exposed to the elements.
In 2010- i am hoping to add in the village town- where there will be actual shops that the folks can go into and shop. So for right now- everything is exposed to the elements.
Can your items be exposed to all conditions of weather?
Thanks!

Sandy, in the past I've taught some art classes at Hobby Lobby, but I'm not doing that any longer. I've decided to just concentrate on my art, and being a grandma :) I sell grapevine items, altered art items, and crystal trees. Would any of these things work at your place? My husband and I would probably make a day trip, and bring it all to you.

Hi Birdie!
Sonds like you have quite a background in the arts and crafts! I think your items would work- but as I said before, right now everything has to be items that can be outdoors-
and displayed throughout the nursery.
I may be able to use the bottom of the horse barn as a gift shop for the season, just depends on wether or not it gets cleaned out by then- we are so busy potting until the end of May- i just don't know if i will have the time.
Plmk if your items can withstand the elements?
Do you have any pics to share of your work?I would love to see them!
Thank you and hope to talk with you soon!
Sandy

Plainwell, MI(Zone 6a)

All of my items can take the elements, or at least i'll bring only those that can :)
I'll find you some pictures and send them, hopefully in the next few days.

Lachine, MI

Hi Birdie!
Oh I look so forward to your sharing some pic's! It is such fun to see other talented folks and their works! I love Hobby Lobby! My daughter lives in Grand Rapids and when I go visis her- its a traditional stop there! What a wonderful fun place to visit!
Very cool stuff!
I look forward to the pics...so far it seems we have 2 from the UP with extremely nice outdoor enhancements and a few locals here from my area.
I wish someone made clay pot people, wooden cutouts, weathervanes, humorous garden signs, concrete statuary and more! lol
garden hugs,
Sandy
p.s. what will be fun is meeting those of you from daves and getting to know each other!
I am always so busy here that I never get away to far except to visit daughter once a year and go camping for a week in july!
such is my wonderful life! lol
I just finished doing a gazillion candy corns..12 hours of priming and another 24 hours of extreme painting...but i love it!

Just letting folks know that the Outdoor Gallery De Art will be up and running! Here are a couple of the 4 foot by 4 foot paintings I have ready to go in the gallery.
If you go to the gallery on my website
www.scarecrowvillage.com
You will find a place to click on that has the application to exhibit.
I figure these type of paintings are excellent for barns, long garages at the peeks of garages and even within the gardens - all folks need to do is use T-posts to attache
the paintings to and place at different heights to give depth to the garden.
Thanks!
Sandy
