An odd iris

Greeneville, TN(Zone 6b)

This was Ring Around Rosie this year, on its bloomstalk a baby iris is growing. Has anyone had this happen to them? Is it rare? The baby has been potted up for winter since it didn't have roots, but I was wondering if it will be a RAR offspring and does this have a name?

Wow! I didn't know irises had prolifs! I have heard of, but never seen them, in daylilies, though.

Thanks for the info, I didn't know iris could do that. It seems to already be making a little one on its side too.

You are in luck, Tntigger! Betty
