Now you have to get the little pink ballet slippers to go with the dress and crinolins they just go so well together.
OMG! You are reminding me of a book my daughter just "had to have" at the library last week. It was about a dancing chicken... very cute. I could just picture Talula, Lacey, and Anya putting on a recital in the backyard. HA!

um I have to make an update to the Spelling Police re: crinolin'e'. I don't believe that can be right because then it would be pronounced with a long 'i' as in the great state of South Carolina which is just plain wrong. I have pencilled a correction into both my Oxford and Webster to make it crinolin although peoples from the Carolina states can spell it crino-line if they like because then it would rhyme with their state in their wassails which would be all good ^_^ I've noticed you have to keep an eye on the dictionary guys because sometimes they just make things up as they go along
DAHLIANUT!!! You take that back!!! No self-respecting Canadian questions the Queen's English, and if she wants it spelled crinoline, so shall it be! And you go erase those marks in your dictionary! The Oxford English Dictionary (hard not to drool as I write that) is such an authority that you may not even begin to question it. I wish I had the multi volume set but it's over $1000 now. Ouch.
Oh, the shame, the shame.....
(buries head in hands and wonders what has become of her homeland...)
You can't just let those dictionary guys 'write' all over you. Besides I believe the crinolin was invented to go with the hoop skirts in the US so it would be a Webster's call and not Oxford's. "To Webster, the dictionary was never a book to tell people how to use language, but a book to tell them how they already were using it" Ya see, he was just representing how the Carolina peoples were spelling it ^_^ It just can't be crino-line. It sounds like something the crayola people made up.
