I bought a young pecan tree last year from ebay, about two feet high. Some of the leaves started turning a dark color and became dry and crumbly. It finally seemed to recover.
Last month I planted some walnut seeds. They came up but are now having the same problem.
Any idea what this is and how to treat it?

Can you post some pictures? Especially with the seedlings I suspect damping off or some sort of fungal problem. With the pecan it's harder to say, but if it's doing fine now and hasn't had any further problems I wouldn't worry too much.
