Medical Tourism......

Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

There's a fascinating series in the newspaper about going overseas for medical procedures. It follows a guy from Houston who faced a life of pain without hip surgery because he had no insurance. The procedure would have cost $51,000. here, and $8,000. in India.
Looks like it's already an alternative offered by some insurance companies here in the States. Just thought I'd pass along the link in case anyone is facing expensive surgery without insurance. The articles cover the pros and cons of going out of country for medical care.
