Hydrangea question

Georgetown, SC(Zone 8a)

This hydrangea is acting like spring instead of fall. It has lots of new foliage and is doing this (see photo).
It's never done this in fall before. On the other hand, it's had lousy hydration all summer and, though it bloomed nicely this year, I did alot to improve it''s soil a couple of months ago.

So, is this normal behavior? When the inevitable frost comes, will that be curtains for it blooming in spring?

And even if it is, is there anything I can do about it?

Deb,
Hydrangeas are so durable and adjust to about any conditions. Mine have done the same thing over the years and I just leave them alone from this time on and they still bloom in the Spring. As you know, the frost will kill all the new growth but it will come back in the Spring. That looks like a mophead. Is it?
Good luck,

Actually, it's a lacecap. No idea which one, though. Thanks for the info!
