Butternut Squash in containers

Cypress, TX(Zone 9a)

Does anyone have any suggestions how to grow butternuts in a container? I started them indoors in my kitchen window about 6 weeks ago and they are about 6 inches or so with some little buds beginning. I wanted to try to grow them in containers but don't know what size I should use or what type of soil? Also, could I just use one of the tomato cone things since they are supposed to be vining or should I use a trellis type? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

What type of container are you referring too? In this case size does matter.

I would plant just two as they spread large if you are using EBs. If not ask over at the Container Thread or one per clay container.
