Another "does your husband...." question

My husband is great, marvelous, wonderful about doing the dishes. But. . . . . afterwards, before he leaves the room, he removes the sink strainers from the sinks (double sink). He puts them up by the faucets. Have you ever? So everytime I go by I put them back. I have been trying to figure out a "reason" for this other then his mother told him to do this as a child. But then why would she?
