Had some Prairie onion with dinner tonight. Even at this time of year, they were mild and tasty. Similar to a green onion, but the stems were a bit more chewy, and the bulb part a bit less crunchy. These were grown from seed from a couple counties over from where I live. I suspect they are absolutely wonderful in late spring.
I have fresh seed if anyone would like some.

They pop up here and there in my yard, too. I've snipped a few, but with garlic chives growing by my front stoop, I seldom remember them... I'll bet they'd be great added to a stir fry. Thanks for the report that they're still tasty at this late season!
