stephanotis bugs

Waipahu, HI(Zone 10a)

Just wondering if anyone knows the name of the little yellow bugs that attack the new shoots of the stephanotis plants. they are located at the ends of the new shoots and crawl around and have wing. Any bug identifiers out there?

No idea here kani, it's one bug I haven't yet had in the garden as far as I know....do post the picture you D-mailed me, I am sure that the seed pods would be of great interest to everyone - they are beautiful! I just hope you didn't try to get the seeds out under the fan! LOL!

Perhaps Dave or Carol or other experts will see this and name your bug!

Aloha!

No bug expert, but a big bug phobic here... I'll just bump it up and give my opinion that they might be some aphid species. I saw some poor plants in HD covered in them, little bright yellow nasties, about 1mm big... I know I'm not going there to buy a plant!

Aloha Kani! I bet they are aphids placed there by ants. I see those little yellow guys on my poor, struggling stephanotis, and orchid shoots. I remove them by hand or spray with dish soap and water.
