Thanks for switching us over LT :-)
You've done a ton of research, and I greatly appreciate it .. :-)
Going to the webcams as soon as I take our dog out and see just how much frost we got last night !!
~M~
Marilyn, often at night on the Africams, it's a howling wind, I have to turn the sound down as it's too eerie!
Those speakers also pick up lots of distance sounds so often you hear things but they never appear on screen. The lions roaring are my favorite!
Elephant Plains has a noisy active baboon herd nearby that make quite a racket in the mornings, the hyaena are also very loud.
Sue .. I'm so glad you wrote about the 'ancillary sounds' .. shew .. I have turned my speakers down when I pop onto the site in the evening (CAT) .. I do have to say though, that it must have been lions I heard that one night. As you say, 'erie and haunting' !!!
~M~
Thank you for informing me about this rather addicting sight.
Normally just a'' lurker '' Wanted to comment on the sounds. I have cats that respond to the sounds, they normally don;t care about the computer at all.
Dudley (7 months old ) tries to find the bird sounds inside the monitor.
Scruffmonkey (3 yrs ) runs and hides at the ''night screems''.
When my GD's lived with us I had the Africam in our favorites...need to check them out again!
Thanks for all the hard work!
I've been a bit busy...nice to see gardengus...I will never get tired of these sites, actually, I get restless...want to go and see what I can find...Kruger a bit far (7-8 hours drive) but enough around here for now....
Had to turn off that Elephant Plains cam, that frog chorus is just too loud!
Leopard video is awesome!!
Hi Sue, How do you capture that?
Have you put the live gamedrive on full-screen...graphics a bit dodgy, but you feel like sitting in the back looking for animals with some imagination....some buffalo at the waterhole...
pelletory, there are directions on Africam in the forums, under the Streaming Cam Pics heading and then the How to take and post pics on the boma heading.
It's by using a free program called MWSnap
http://www.mirekw.com/winfreeware/mwsnap.html
Just heard hyeana
Thank You Sue!
I haven't tried that full screen thing yet but I sure will!
Here is a link showing where the Nkorho Pan is located, several maps and satellite images.
http://fischer43.com/nkorho/Nkorho_Map.htm
Tried watching the live drive on WildEarth on full screen, makes me a little queasy LOL, had to minimize it again! I enlarge it when he stops driving to view animals.
They just spotted birds circling in the distance so maybe a lion kill, they are going to investigate.

giraffe now
yes sue, Impala....lots and lots of them in that area "Greater Kruger"....
Warthog pic not worth much sorry....
Every evening you can hear the entertainment and folks at the Lodge talking on the Nkorho Pan, like right now. My map link above shows the location of the lodge.
I saw the Warthogs a couple of times today.
Re the Warthogs .. good grief they are a weird and wonderous animal in so far as 'looks' .. plus they snort around while down on their front knees .. I have a West Highland White Terrier (Westie) and i swear she can snort around just like a Warthog :-)
