Commanders Jordan, Josh, and Moxon have PIPS!! Updates here!

Sue, RI(Zone 6a)

You all are making me very hungry!

I ordered Black Australorps (8 pullets & 1 roo) and 4 Ameraucana pullets. I flipped a few-one distinctly stuck out one leg and so far the others kept theirs pulled in. I lost track of who I checked-one of the Ameraucanas nestled down in my hand and promptly fell asleep! How can you put them down when they do that?!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

please explain the leggy thing

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

Sandy you can't put them down when they do that.. it's like your paralyzed and can't move! Isn't it cute!!? I love it when they want a warm place and snuggle down and conk out.

edited to add link to leggy thing..

Harmony - great tip about pretending to be a hen with your fingernail. I am going to keep that one tucked in my chicken book on a post-it note to remember it!

Saanansandy - adorable chickies! Great pictures - such fun to see them all enjoying their new home.

Commander Jordan - the leggy thing is Harmony's chick flipping method and I am sure she will explain it better than I!

And thanks all, for making me want cookies.
Mox

I just got back from bringing my Dad to the drs. All I could think about was those little fuzzballs at home!! As soon as I got home I ran up here to see how they are! Happy as can be! Totally unaware that mom was even there!

New baby serama from this morning. Flipping indicates possible hen. Presently nameless. Working on that!

and here "she" is with her sibling, demonstrating the phrase "two birds in the hand..."
(I didn't have the heart to tell her that wasn't the way the phrase goes - she's just a widdle biddy chickie wickie...)

I'm a little behind ladies, but CONGRATULATIONS ON ALL THE NEW BABIES! They are just so cute I could pet them on the screen!
My Seramas are a week old today (well Blondie is!) That little runt is a HELLION in the incubator.
I think your big yogurt cup is a good idea catscan, as I have a few babies from Silkie that are due over the weekend!
Early bedtime for me tonight. Getting the "CRUD" that's going around.

Have a great night :)
