Hi, I am looking for something to at least hold back the spider population that is invading my home. I realize a lot of it is the time of year. But I killed 2 Brown Recluses in my kids room this week alone. I have an older house so the places they are coming in could be just about anywhere. Would spraying inside & outside with Ortho Home Defense work? I need something more than a fly swatter, these spiders give me the Willies! Julie

Make sure you are, in fact, killing a brown recluse and not a wolf spider. Wolf spiders are notorious for making their homes in houses and can get quite big. They are harmless and will control other pests (e.g., ants and flies) in your home, so you should try to put them back outside. You could put down an outside barrier, which does seem to help, and encourages insects not to invade your home.
