I have lots of them around here...Like I said I am really wanting to learn what is right here around me!
Another Berry Shrub
Just a guess: Spicebush, Lindera benzoin ? don't even know if it's hardy there, but it has berries here; a woodland edge shrub.
I'll check.. this is located in a woodland's edge setting.
Not a spicebush...the berries are too round.

Not trying to put you off, I am enjoying trying to identify things without being able to see it all and not being able to handle it!!!
Two really good books you might want to try are the
National Audubon Society Field Guides and can be purchased at a reduced price from
http://www.amazon.com
or
http://www.abebooks.com
I will check in to those.
Leaves look more like a dogwood than spicebush.
I think it might be an invasive shrub honeysuckle of the Lonicera genus.
Yep, it's one of the invasive honeysuckles.
They grow wild all over around here in and by the woods.
Thanks
I am thinking I ID'ed one that looked just like this, and it was an invasive alien called a Japanese Honeysuckle.
Or, it could be this, but the leaves don't look as wide as yours do. http://www.nature.org/wherewework/northamerica/states/indiana/misc/art24011.html
Of course, now I can't find any other links.
One more link of the Morrow's Honeysuckle from here. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/58229/
I think the Morrow's is it. I took pics of the flowers back in the spring ...they are deleted now..but best I remember those resemble what it had. I know they weren't red like the other one.
Thanks for all your time and effort!!
