Forsythia blooming in Sept?

Alfred Station, NY(Zone 5b)

Anyone ever seen their forsythia bloom this time of year? Ours bloomed at the usual time in the spring, but is now blooming again.

I don't have any that are doing that, but the azaleas have some blooms along the new growth on top.

In past years, the forsythias around here have begun blooming off season if we've had a cool spell followed by a few weeks of warm weather. I've also seen azaleas do the same. What is most disturbing is when this happens in early spring and the fruit trees are fooled because we always get a freeze which jeopardizes the crops.

Some of the magnolia trees around here have a few flowers. I've seen some of my spring bulbs putting up foliage. Wierd.

We had a Rhododendron produce one blossom last week, have not seen any other buds trying to bloom on that plant. will check out some others this week to see if any signs.

blame it on global warming...

Well, all summer here until mid-August was cool and rainy, and then it warmed up nicely so maybe that's the reason.

I'll have to look tomorrow. Hadn't noticed any unusual blooms.
