I am in Spokane WA waiting for a flight back to Houston, and while killing some days waiting, I visited the John A Finch Arboretum. I saw this bird hopping in the lawn under some pine trees and snapped some pictures. He then flew up to the pine tree and hopped up the side like a woodpecker which made me think that maybe it is a flicker! Woo Hoo! That would be a new bird for me....
CLOSED: Did I finally get a flicker??
I've never seen one in person, but it sure looks like a Flicker!
it sure is a Flicker
Yes it is. Great woodpecker; I love their call.
Yes!!! Crazy sounding bird!
It always reminds me of a jungle type sound. :-)
Aww man I didnt get to hear it's call. I will have to go back tomorrow!!!!!! Thanks guys. At least there is something positive about being stuck in Washington for a while.
