I wanted to share a virus warning that we received from our MIS department in work today; According to the MIS director at work it has been verified so please be careful opening emails (NOT DMAILS).
COMPUTER VIRUS WARNING
The newest virus circulating is the 'UPS Delivery Failure'. You will receive an email from UPS Packet Service along with a packet Number. It will say that they were un-able to deliver a package sent to you on such and such a date. It then asks you to print out the invoice copy attached. DON' T TRY TO PRINT THIS. IT LAUNCHES THE VIRUS! Pass this warning on to all your PC operators at work and Home. This virus has caused millions of dollars in damage in the Past few days.
This is all I have on it. If anyone else knows more please chime in.
Donna
COMPUTER VIRUS
Yeah, Snopes.com says this is a genuine virus (as opposed to a hoax or "urban legend" ) and should be avoided. Thanks, Donna.

Thanks Donna I have forwarded it to my friends
Thanks Donna. Can a FedEx virus be far behind??
DH got this same email as a FedEx message twice a few weeks ago. It was within days of his making a product return. He was suspicious because it did not refer to his package number, a mailing date or the recipient.

In checking the snopes site today, it says the email may say either Fedex or UPS.
Your welcome everyone; I would not want anyone get caught by this attacker.
Donna
Wow - I was only joking!
Times like this make me glad I run Macs or Linux. Windows free for almost 10 years now.
Thanks, Donna!
A little late than Never? I would have rather had it Never.
Got it today, Beware.....It took a good chunk of the day by a geek to fix it from PlumChoice....so it is still out there.
Our security center should have caught it. DH shouldn't have opened it.
Beware. Ours said UPS than something about the USPS not Fed Ex. Beware. Patti
Please read the following. It applies to FedEx as well,

NOTE: The word packet is mis-spelled on this line. It will say that they

If you receive the UPS/FEDEX message notify the person who sent
the message as they may have the virus on their computer.
Snopes confirms that it is real:

I'm in IT, and basically don't open any link on any email unless you specifically asked for it. Even if it is from someone you know! Better safe than sorry.
I'm so sorry, Patti. That shouldn't happen to ANYONE!
Thanks, Carrie, DH dealt with it. But wouldn't you know the same day, my only power cord for my computer failed. I have ordered a new one. Rains it pours. I will survive the loss until Monday. Patti
