It's a Mexican primrose.
Is it hardy to zone 5? Or is it just an annual? It looks so much like a hardy hibiscus that we love.
>giggle< I got the picture out of PlantFiles - it's not mine. It's supposed to like it hot and dry - it comes up in an article I just finished.... can become weedy. Don't the flowers on that one look great? The ones I've seen in person look more like this one. It's a small flower, too, like 1.5" across? 2" across? I've never seen more than the bunch they had at the Lowes in AZ at once.
