Wow, I never would have guessed that. Female, no doubt. My book shows its range to be a bit north of me, so I would have been nervous about the ID even if I could figure it out. Thanks!

Yep, female was my conclusion too. Both Sibley and Nat. Geog. show the Houston area as right on the SW corner of its breeding range, but this late in the summer, they'll be starting to drift southward with passage numbers starting to build up.
