Weird Leaf??

When I first saw this I thought for a second there was a green snake on my Desert Rose......but it is part of the plant.
Anyone know what it is?

It's possible you have developing seed pods---did the plant bloom recently?

Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

Yes, it did. Now I'm just trying to keep it alive in all this heat. I've never had one of these before, but loved the flowers. So these are seed pods? How long does it take to grow these from seed?

I'll have to find a picture of this somewhere....so cool.

I found a picture......it does appear to be seed pods.

And I didn't even know it was pregnant!

Oh that certainly is a seedpod!
Congratulations!!
Last year I hand pollinated several and had so many seedpods I couldnt believe it!
This year I left them alone and have none lol!!

Great seedpod, and also looks like it's about ready to break open. Stick some pany hose or other mesh material, or the wind will carry them away when it breaks open.

It looks old enough that you could probably manually harvest it. I just recently started doing that and it works well. The new babies are already coming up.

How small are the seeds?

Valrico, FL(Zone 9b)

Easily visible. About a half inch long. Tufts of silk like hair on both end. About 30 on both each side of the pod on average.
