The End of the Garden Party
We started very early to prepare for our garden party,
First we checked to see where it would be held.
Of the many choices that we fretted over we choose the one that was the very best.
We made sure each guest would feel at home,
All would feel safe and welcome, no better place to be found.
The list of our honored guests was next to be considered,
So many to choose from, we felt sad that we couldn’t invite all.
We thought then added, and thinking more we changed our list.
Would each guest feel special, as if this party were just for them?
None would be sad that they choose to come.
The invitations were extended and the invitees began to arrive,
Each one seated at their place of honor.
As a nervous host we waited to see how each would react,
And time seemed to stop as we waited for the party to begin.
Then slowly at first each began to show their pleasure in being at this party.
Soon each guest was radiant and showed their very best,
And we were glad we held this gathering for our guest to bloom.
But now the party is ending and the guests are saying ado,
And we find although were sad, it was worth everything we went through.
All the guest were happy and said they would return,
If they found next year this party was held once more.
So we’ll have to be reminded through the pictures that we took,
And the moments of that party placed into our memory book.

The End of the Garden Party
Sounds wonderful Chuck. I can imagine a lovely scene from your words that are so nicely put, but did you mention pictures? Hmmm? The party can continue just as you say, then begin again.

Very poetic words..
So sweet, you leaving us, Chuck?
You should be so lucky!
I'm like that grape juice stain in the rug. I'm here and I ain't leaving!
Chuck
lol, good to hear.
I'd miss your posts Chuck. Are you a grape juice fan? Do you not have cats? Red wine and cats will make short work of carpets. If that doesn't work, make your next garden party an open house and have a punch bowl with something very red.
Laurel
I love your sentiments, Chuck. Very moving and very beautiful.
Laurel,
Yes I do have a cat, a very strange cat!
He's good, doesn't bother any of the plants, causes small but livable problems sometimes.
I say strange because he is happiest when I turn on a slow stream of water in the tub.
He plays with the water, bats at it, drinks it and thinks nothing of gettting his head along with every thing else wet.
We find him laying in the tub waiting for someone to come in and turn on the water.
Its funny to see little wet paw prints coming out of the bathroom and down the hall.
I think he is part otter.
Chuck
That is a nice looking lily!
Thanks Yank, I love it!!!!!
very pretty Pixie
Ooohhhhh! I'll have to find that one, too. Do you have it planted near 'Dizzy'?
That's gorgeous, Celeste! Just look at all those blooms! I have 'envy'.
'Showwinner' is one of those multi-bloom lilies. It has never failed to knock my socks off, what it lacts in size it makes up for in blooms and scent.
In this pic. you can just barely see Show Winner above Garden Party.... you can also buy it here. Beware!!

Chuck, strange cats make strange bedfellows. Trust me on this one. I used to have a cat that cleaned his own box by tossing everything on the surrounding floor. He refused to use an unclean box a second time.
Celeste, you are so tempting me with those lilies. Where are your moles, voles, chipmunks and deer? I used to grow such beautiful lilies in our first house. Thought we'd have tons in the country, but found I was just writing checks for animal feed.

Glad to know that we had planted the deterrent daffs in and among the DL. Sometimes a fluke works!!
