Would anyone be interested?

Philadelphia, PA(Zone 6b)

I have several extra rhizomes of a NoID iris...I think it's Painted Cloud - with the pink/lavender combo - but the tag is MIA (the birds steal everything to help build their nests) so I cannot be certain. I did buy the iris about 5 years ago at Feeney's Nursery just outside of Philadelphia.

Would anyone be interested in them?

I have a supposedly 'painted cloud' from Spring Hill. Sold as a rebloomer. A really
nice iris. "a mix of lavender and pink with a velvety tangerine beard"

I'm intrested in a few for postage.
Thx Winni

I would like one or two also, for postage or trade.

Philadelphia, PA(Zone 6b)

Jackie, Winnie, Jennifer, and NYRainshine,

Please send me which address to use in mailing. I'll send things out Priority Mail in the next few days unless you have a weather concern and would prefer me to wait a little bit. It's pretty nice here, right now. Unusual for August.

Thanks for giving the rhizomes new homes!

Do you have 1 or 2 left for postage? Would love to try them if you do!

Thanks

I'll check tonight, Jen, and let you know for certain tomorrow, okay?

Franklin Springs, NY(Zone 4b)

Great! Weather here too has been decent and rainy, so cooler.
Thank you so much for your generosity. I'll refund the postage as soon as I recieve them.
I'm establishing a perennial garden where I work (and live now). It's a pottery and I'd like it to be predominately Iris in the spring to tie to the Iris/Isis/rainbow/patron-of-the-arts concept. Plus I personally love the foliage all year, so they will be going to a very good home and will be admired by many..........Thanks

This is a pic of what I think is my 'painted cloud'. I did not mark anything so
it is only a good guess by comparing it to the original catalog pic.

Thanks, Shelley. I like the foliage, too. Same with tulips. I know it sounds a little odd.

Mine has more lavender in it than your pic shows, Oldgardenrose. Actually, mine is more lavender than the pics in PlantFiles, too. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/199975/

Now I'm starting to doubt my memory! I know it's lavender and pink - I passed colors in kindergarten! Honest! : )

Well, it's a beautiful iris; I didn't even hesitate to pay $25 for it at the time I got it. Maybe they had mine mismarked?? Guess we'll have to meet back here next year and give the final verdict.

Hi, do you have any left or are they all taken?
Thank you
Lynn

Would love to have some!

Philadelphia, PA(Zone 6b)

Let me check tonight - I think they are all gone, but I'll count again and see if I have enough for both of you (pfllh and zinnialover).

THANK YOU

My pic may be of 'chanteuse' which I purchased at the same time from SH. They
are so very close in color it is not easy to see the difference by a casual glance.

Here is a picture of my Painted Cloud, purchased from Van Bourgondien

if there are any left I would like some for postage.

its just beautiful!

Salem, IL(Zone 5b)

As more useless info from me, when you mentioned Van Bourgondien, I searched
thru some of the pic/description cards that are attached to single pac irises at
Lowes and found 'painted cloud' from the same packer K. van Bourgondien. The
pic indicates a near solid lavender standard with a pale fall with deeper lavender
edging on the ruffles. That is why I did not mark my iris. You never know what
you are getting anyway. Absolutely no resemblance to the pc from SH.

Detroit, MI

kays,

I think thats definitely not Painted Cloud, is Van Bourgondien a good nursery?

Lakes of the Four Se, IN(Zone 5a)

My 2 cents worth: Van Bourgondien is not reputable. Here is a link to the GWD entry.

I've gotten some good things from them in the past, but they are notorious for mislabeled nursery stock and rotten bulbs. I've had many problems with them. I no longer do business with them and immediately throw their catalogs into the recycle bin.

"Will the real Painted Clouds please stand up!"

Kays, it looks like you have something different, although the iris in your photo is very beautiful!

VB strikes again! :-)

If I would have known then what I know now, I would have been first on your list, maxsmomma. lol Kay
