best string for outdoor mobiles

I was lucky enough to get several hundred small glass vials from my work. They have holes blown through the bottoms. I want to make a spiralled glass painted mobile and want to know the best string to use to make it last. These vials are about three inches long and 1 inch wide. Thanks!
