September 2008 - 12 Month Block Swap!!

Because it appears that everyone (or at least the majority) agreed, I am going to set up the threads for each of the months from now until December. PLEASE make sure that you put your user name and the month that your block is for on your blocks. Also, I am not mailing the blocks until the month that they were due, so no one should feel that they have to do their blocks early if they don't want to. If you choose to wait and do your December block in December that is fine.

In November or December, we can decide if we want to post the last few months early also. I am not trying to leave anyone out, but don't want to have too many months going at the same time for my sanity.

If anyone thinks of anything that I have forgotten, then let me know.


RECAP the "rules":

Make 2 blocks each month. Keep one for you and send one to Shuggins. Each month, she will send the 12 blocks sent to her to the person who picked the block for that month. Be sure to put your username and real name on the block that you send to her. You can pin it on or put a label on it, whichever works better for you.

Block Specifics:

1. All fabric should be 100% cotton. Please wash all fabric before making block.
2. Do not use any spray starch on blocks, spray sizing is OK.
3. A block should measure 12 1/2 x 12 1/2 when finished.
4. Make 1 block for yourself and 1 block to send to me.
5. Fabric is completely up the individual as long as it is 100% cotton.
6. Cut off date for you mailing to me will be the 1st of the month
7. Remember after you make a quilt we would love to see your results!!

If something happens and you will not be able to complete a month or the 12 months, please let me know as soon as possible. I realize that everyone has a life outside of the swap, but please try to plan, so that things will go smoothly. It is very disappointing when you do your part on a swap and some one else doesn’t. I hope this doesn’t sound harsh, but I want this to be a positive and fun experience for everyone.
