What influences delph shades?

Albany, ME(Zone 4b)

I have two Magic Fountains - Sky Blue, White Bee, in different beds. One is the expected sky blue. The other is noticeably darker - more of a periwinkle. I'm pretty sure this isn't a mis-labeling problem, because the form of the flowerets are the same, and the same as others I have of this variety. I observed this color difference in two lilies too, so I'm wondering if soil or shade or something could be a factor - especially whether I can expect the darker one to lighten up if I move it. The beds differ in that one is always in sun, whereas the other gets shade a few hours a day. One probably has better feeding. I haven't measured the p.h., but I wouldn't be surprised if one is less acidic than the other.

TIA
LAS
